Surf, IT Can Help and the SY Half Marathon

OK! So you’re probably one of those folks that thinks… it’s about time Roddy did something useful.
Here’s your chance to prove me right and egg me on in the process.

I am going to run the Stornoway Half Marathon.

I have decided further to do this for a charity I volunteer for.
Specifically I am trying to raise cash to buy a dolphin guide computer and internet connection for a blind client in Stornoway.

It’s not cheep. circa £2k with a connection. So I may be at this for quite some time

Obviously being blind and dare I say it elderly, makes our everyday experience impossible. Stornoway you would think the perfect place to be blind…It’s small : easy to get around, It’s friendly : everyone knows you.

It doesn’t work like that. Being Housebound in Stornoway relying on council services is not an easy existence.

This is the season after all to get diggin in SY.  This should be extra fun for those of you who like to see me in pain. I am so under prepared.

Happier times for those of you who made it to the end of the post…click photos for links
