Cadet Photographer Roddy has Just Started Photo Blogging
Ok I’m doing this as I am a serious professional photographer…sure.
I’m also doing it for Strobist Boot Camp 2 Assignment 1.
My Camera was killed in action in Atlantic surf, just before Boot Camp 2 launched.
I was so excited about Boot Camp 2 . . . But my EWA marine bag flooded. (NEVER BUY EWA!…-…mental note..Damned marines.)
I must admit I thought at times I would have to give up on this assignment.
At the back of my mind though was the scratching, nagging truth.

I can do this.
You’re nuts if you do this.
No It’s probably my only hope now.
There’s no hot shoe, no remote synch, your camera flash is miniscule, the lens is cracked, the phone got washed with Your combats, The lens is tiny, You have no studio, no time, You’re a parent of two brats.
F U nagging brain .. I’m Doing This!
So the results may come in a bit ragged and flared but I got the killer HEAD SHOT.

HEAD SHOT 1 Fin and Bear
Poor Fin. . . Life is hard enough for a kid with Chicken Pox, Then your dad gets you to agree to this.
We had to get 28 floorboards in the loft to get a space dark enough and long enough to use my nokia N82… elastic banded to my Leicia 10x field binoculars to get some depth of field drop off. Just go and try getting a phone to remote synch strobes at 15m…Fin and Millie (his pal) painted the backdrop target (wooly blanket from recent house move).
It’s a Brave look considering He knew He was getting shot in this photo.
For his turn …. Fin is much more pro.
He chose to use Nana’s old caompact SONY Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 (the one where we had to fix the lens.) up close.
His props are better than mine too.
Shot in the Head
It’s very me. I definately feel shot in the head.
